About

A library of web utilities built to do one job each, properly.

What this is

There are 16 tools here covering finance, software and infrastructure costs, developer utilities, image handling and everyday calculations. They exist because these are things people look up repeatedly, and because most of the free versions online are either wrong, buried in advertising, or quietly uploading your files to somebody’s server.

The unifying idea is simple: a person arrives with a task, and should be able to finish it in a few seconds without scrolling past a marketing page first.

How the tools are built

Where a task can be done entirely in the browser, it is. Calculators, generators, text tools and the image tools all run on your own device, which is faster and means we never receive your data in the first place. We only process on a server where a tool genuinely cannot work without it, and each page says which applies before you enter anything.

Every calculator states the formula it uses, what it holds constant, and where the result should not be relied on. If a tool depends on external data — pricing, rates, statutory figures — the source and the date it was last checked are shown on the page rather than buried in terms.

How results are checked

Each tool is verified against an independent reference before it is published, and its worked example on the page is generated from the same calculation the tool itself runs — so if the two ever disagree, it is visible. Our methodology page describes the review process in full.

We would rather publish fewer tools that are right than a large number that are approximately right. If you find an error, there is a correction link on every tool page and we will fix it.

Privacy

No accounts, no data sales, and no upload for anything that can be done locally. The one thing stored on your device is your cookie preference. The privacy policy describes exactly what runs, and is written to match the code rather than a template.

How this is paid for

The intention is that advertising covers the cost of running the site. No ad units are manually placed on any page today — the AdSense account library is loaded site-wide for verification, but nothing is being displayed that isn’t a tool or its explanation. When ad units are added, they’ll be clearly labelled, kept well away from the controls you actually came to use, and never placed where they could be mistaken for a result or a download button. Tools that are incomplete will not carry ads at all. See the Privacy Policy for the current, exact state of advertising on the site.
